About the Role
The Boiler Heat Exchange Lead is responsible for coordinating and performing maintenance, repair, and installation of boiler systems and heat exchangers. As a working leader, the role guides a team of technicians while ensuring safety, efficiency, and adherence to project specifications. The position involves overseeing welders, mechanics, and pipefitters, assigning daily tasks, and serving as the primary point of contact for the crew in the foreman's absence. It also requires effective communication with supervisors, contractors, and project managers to keep projects on schedule. Work is performed in industrial and construction environments that may involve physical exertion, climbing, confined‑space entry, and exposure to high temperatures, loud noise, and heavy machinery, all while adhering to strict PPE and safety protocols. • Lead and coordinate welders, mechanics, and pipefitters, assigning daily tasks and acting as primary crew contact when the foreman is absent. • Perform boiler system inspections, heat exchanger maintenance, tube replacements, and leak repairs. • Troubleshoot mechanical issues in boilers and heat exchangers and ensure installations follow blueprints and specifications. • Conduct pre‑task safety assessments, enforce OSHA regulations, and maintain a clean work environment. • Communicate project updates and needs to supervisors, contractors, and the foreman or project manager. • Manage tool, material, and equipment delivery to support project timelines. • Record completed tasks, material usage, and equipment maintenance logs; assist in daily progress and safety reporting.

What You Bring
Candidates must have 3–5 years of experience with boiler and heat exchanger systems, preferably in a senior technician or leadership capacity, a high school diploma or GED, and relevant technical certifications. Strong skills in reading blueprints, troubleshooting, and team collaboration are essential. • Possess 3–5 years of boiler and heat exchanger experience, preferably in a senior technician or leadership role. • Hold a high school diploma or GED; OSHA 10‑hour or 30‑hour certification and technical certifications in boiler operation, welding, or HVAC are a plus. • Read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals; apply strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills. • Work in industrial and construction settings requiring physical exertion, climbing, confined‑space entry, and exposure to high temperatures, noise, and heavy machinery while following strict PPE protocols.
