About the Role
The Driver/Operator safely operates a heavy‑duty truck on assigned transfer routes, delivering waste containers and ensuring reliable service. The role is critical to maintaining the efficiency of WM’s collection network and upholding safety standards. Daily responsibilities include operating the vehicle in compliance with OSHA, DOT, and company policies, performing pre‑ and post‑trip inspections, and reporting any unsafe conditions or incidents promptly. The driver works closely with Operations Managers to optimize routes, participates in required training, handles container dumping and positioning, and completes all required documentation and customer tickets at the end of each route. • Operate heavy‑duty truck following OSHA, DOT, and company safety standards. • Conduct pre‑ and post‑trip vehicle inspections using DVIR and report issues. • Immediately report unsafe conditions, incidents, or service calls to management. • Participate in scheduled training, briefings, and meetings. • Collaborate with Operations Managers to improve route efficiency and address safety concerns. • Dump containers, clean customer sites, and position containers properly on property. • Complete and submit customer tickets for excess yardage removal. • Follow assigned routes, document activity, and check‑in at route end.

What You Bring
No formal education or prior experience is required, but a valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License and a minimum age of 18 are mandatory. Candidates must successfully complete a DOT drug screen, physical examination, background check, and maintain an acceptable driving record. • Hold a valid Commercial Driver’s License (Class B) and be at least 18 years old. • Pass pre‑employment DOT drug screening, physical, background check, and maintain an acceptable driving record.
