About the Role

AECOM seeks an Associate Highway Engineering Design Task Lead in Eastern Pennsylvania, working hybrid from offices in Mechanicsburg, Philadelphia, or Conshohocken. The role provides technical leadership and design oversight for medium to large transportation projects, coordinating with design leads, engineering managers, and project managers to advance scope and deliverables. • Lead highway design teams by overseeing criteria, alignments, superelevation, barriers, and spot elevations. • Direct development of rigid and flexible pavement designs and signing/marking plans. • Manage construction phasing and maintenance‑of‑traffic plans through interdisciplinary coordination. • Identify and resolve utility conflicts based on client feedback and constructability reviews. • Produce construction specifications, quantity takeoffs, and cost estimates. • Supervise creation of 3D highway models in OpenRoads and ensure compliance with technical standards. • Generate technical calculations, reports, and interdisciplinary reviews adhering to AECOM quality procedures. • Contribute to staffing decisions, proposal development, and marketing initiatives. • Prepare and deliver presentations communicating technical findings and recommendations. • Support project managers and technical department managers throughout project delivery.

What You Bring

Candidates must hold a civil engineering bachelor's degree, an EIT certification, a valid US driver’s license, and at least four years of highway transportation experience, plus knowledge of MicroStation or AutoCAD. Preferred qualifications include six or more years of experience, a Pennsylvania PE license, OpenRoads expertise, and experience with PennDOT or the PA Turnpike Commission.
