About the Role

The role involves site development engineering and project management for a variety of land‑development projects, including civil design, permitting, and the use of hydrology modeling, storm‑drainage programs, AutoCAD, and Civil 3D, as well as research, coordination, staff management, cost estimating, bid package preparation, and technical specifications, all while receiving on‑the‑job training and mentorship. • Perform site civil design, permitting, and storm‑drainage modeling using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and hydrology software. • Manage project tasks, research, coordination, and staff supervision. • Estimate costs, prepare bid packages, and develop technical specifications. • Participate in project financials, plan production, and client interactions while receiving mentorship.

Kimley-Horn's Franklin, Tennessee office is seeking a Civil Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with at least two years of experience to join its Land Development team. Qualified candidates must have a minimum of two years’ experience at a civil‑engineering design firm, an ABET‑accredited bachelor's or master's degree in civil engineering, and an EIT or Engineering Intern certification (or the ability to obtain it within 12 months), along with working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D and strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills. • Minimum 2 years experience at a civil engineering design firm. • ABET‑accredited B.S. or M.S. in Civil Engineering. • EIT or Engineering Intern certification (or attainable within 12 months). • Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D. • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. • Ability to meet deadlines with urgency and work both independently and collaboratively.
