About the Role

Key responsibilities include interpreting blueprints to identify material needs, selecting and preparing tools, and evaluating safety hazards. The worker measures, marks, and cuts wood or metal, mixes paints, operates sandblasting equipment, and applies coatings using correct techniques. Work is performed safely at heights and includes housekeeping of the work area. • Read blueprints and specifications to determine material quantities and locations • Identify and gather necessary tools for each task • Assess safety risks and implement required precautions • Measure, mark, and cut wood or metal to specified dimensions • Mix paints/coatings and operate sandblasting equipment • Apply proper painting techniques and stroke types for each coating • Perform work safely at heights using ladders or scaffolds • Maintain clean and organized work areas

What You Bring

An Industrial Journeyman Painter/Blaster Helper assists with paint equipment and structures for both protective and cosmetic purposes. The role involves maintaining, mixing, and applying paint and coating materials to meet contract specifications. Experience in spray painting, sandblasting, and fire‑proof coating application is required. The candidate must be able to read blueprints, sketches, and building plans, meet all physical demands, and follow safety rules and regulations. Possession of required tools and reliable transportation is also mandatory. Flexibility to assist other crafts when not actively painting is expected. Applicants need at least four years of experience as a painter or painter helper on industrial construction projects and must demonstrate proficiency with drawings and painting processes. Reliable transportation, required tools, and the ability to work full schedules with overtime are required.
