About the Role
Mortenson is seeking an Operator who will be responsible for operating equipment as directed while adhering to all safety policies and procedures. The role requires compliance with Mortenson's safety regulations and proper equipment handling. The Operator will manage a range of heavy equipment such as blades, dozers, loaders, scrapers, forklifts, cranes, bobcats, boom lifts, rollers, backhoes, and track cranes. Duties include following prescribed safety rules, maintaining orderly housekeeping, performing routine maintenance, detecting malfunctions, and following work plans and pre‑task cards. Building relationships with colleagues from diverse backgrounds and completing other assigned tasks are also essential. • Operate various heavy equipment including blade, dozer, loader, crane, and skid‑steer. • Follow safety regulations, maintain housekeeping, and adhere to work plans and pre‑task cards. • Perform routine maintenance, monitor equipment operation, and report malfunctions. • Build collaborative relationships across diverse teams. • Read and interpret safety rules, manuals, load charts, and perform basic math calculations.

What You Bring
Candidates must have the required equipment certifications, at least one year of related experience, and a current driver’s license with appropriate endorsements. The role demands strong teamwork, a positive attitude, professional customer service, attention to detail, and the ability to read safety rules, manuals, load charts, and perform basic mathematical calculations. Physical requirements include repetitive hand, arm, and leg movements and lifting up to 50 lb (over 50 lb with assistance). • Hold required equipment certifications and at least one year of related experience. • Maintain a valid driver’s license with appropriate endorsements. • Demonstrate teamwork, positive attitude, customer service skills, and attention to detail. • Lift, carry, push or pull up to 50 lb (over 50 lb with assistance).
