About the Role
• Oversee installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and building services). • Perform walk‑downs and inspections to verify conformance with specifications and design. • Ensure mechanical work complies with project specifications, codes, standards, and safety regulations. • Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and resolve technical issues. • Provide technical guidance to project teams, contractors, and stakeholders. • Review and approve mechanical design drawings, shop drawings, and material submittals. • Evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques to meet construction specifications. • Direct drafters, technicians, and surveyors as needed. • Collaborate with architects, civil engineers, and electrical engineers for seamless system integration. • Coordinate with contractors and subcontractors to ensure timely execution of mechanical works. • Prepare and maintain detailed site reports, inspection records, and progress updates. • Perform quantity surveys for tracking and reporting. • Ensure accurate as‑built drawings and project handover deliverables. • Ensure compliance with local building codes, environmental regulations, and health and safety standards. • Identify and mitigate risks to minimize project delays or cost overruns. • Apply sound professional judgment to align engineering solutions with project goals and standards.

What You Bring
The Senior Mechanical Engineer will join the Buildings & Places Construction Supervision team to lead mechanical engineering aspects of construction projects. This role ensures that HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and other building services are installed, tested, and commissioned in line with design specifications, quality standards, and project schedules. The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise with strong leadership and a commitment to excellence in the built environment. • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master’s preferred). • Minimum 10 years of mechanical engineering experience, with at least 5 years in construction supervision for B&P projects. • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and BIM tools. • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, building codes, and construction methodologies. • Knowledge of ASHRAE, NFPA, and LEED standards is a plus. • Demonstrated leadership and team management abilities. • Excellent problem‑solving, decision‑making, and communication skills.
