About the Role

As a Utility Engineer at JLL you will play a pivotal role in optimizing building performance and energy efficiency across a diverse portfolio of commercial properties. You will collaborate with facility‑management teams, clients and vendors to design, implement and maintain utility systems that drive operational excellence and sustainability, while analyzing energy consumption, developing cost‑saving initiatives and ensuring regulatory compliance. In the day‑to‑day, you will perform inspections, repairs and replacements on interior and exterior property components such as walls, flooring, fixtures, roofing, lighting and automated doors. You will also handle office‑furniture enhancements, plumbing and sewer maintenance, toilet facilities, minor construction activities, patch‑and‑paint work, air registers, roof‑leak response and other ad‑hoc requests, while maintaining safety, housekeeping and energy‑efficient operation of equipment. • Perform inspections, repairs, and replacements of interior and exterior building components such as walls, flooring, fixtures, roofing, and lighting. • Service automated doors, office furniture, lighting fixtures, floor and ceiling tiles, plumbing, toilet facilities, and respond to roof leaks. • Ensure safety compliance, recognize hazards, and maintain energy‑efficient operation of site equipment. • Monitor and coordinate maintenance work performed by outside contractors and assist the building engineering team. • Maintain GMP training qualifications and adhere to Local 39 Stationary Engineers Union and regulatory requirements. • Work alternative shifts, including graveyard, weekends, holidays, overtime, and on‑call schedules.

What You Bring

The role requires membership in Local 39 Stationary Engineers Union, safe tool use, and a high‑school diploma or equivalent. You must have at least two years of building‑engineering experience covering machinery, plumbing, equipment repair and maintenance, and hold a valid state driver’s license. GMP training qualifications must be maintained to meet site compliance standards. Preferred qualifications include prior experience in a GMP environment and working knowledge of CMMS systems. The work environment involves exposure to hazardous materials, use of respirators and hearing protection, and the ability to work alternative shifts such as graveyard, weekends, holidays, overtime and on‑call schedules. Physical demands include lifting up to 50 lb, climbing ladders, working at heights, and operating hand tools in confined spaces. • Possess at least 2 years of building‑engineering experience with skills in machinery, plumbing, and equipment repair. • Hold a high‑school diploma or equivalent and a valid state driver’s license. • Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lb, climbing ladders, working at heights, and operating hand tools in confined spaces. • Preferred: prior GMP environment experience and familiarity with CMMS systems.
