About the Role

In this role you will support the design, configuration, and operation of complete building automation and control systems, as well as related low‑voltage subsystems such as lighting, nurse call, and data networks. You will ensure system performance meets project requirements, deliver high‑quality solutions, and provide clear documentation, detailed submittals, and technical guidance to customers, consultants, field teams, and subcontractors. Your responsibilities include designing and configuring technically complex HVAC and building control systems, developing flow diagrams, sequences of operation, bills of material, network layouts, and electrical schematics, and creating and testing software programs to support performance requirements. You will produce accurate drawings and equipment schedules, select and track materials, coordinate factory‑mounted equipment, assist with commissioning controllers, validate system functionality, troubleshoot issues, and provide field change information for as‑built drawings and updated software. Additionally, you will keep project teams updated, support owner/operator training, participate in release meetings, perform value engineering, guide design assistants, and strictly adhere to safety standards. • Design and configure complex HVAC and building control systems per specifications. • Develop flow diagrams, sequences of operation, bills of material, network layouts, and electrical schematics. • Create and test software programs to meet system performance requirements. • Produce accurate drawings and equipment schedules for submittals and installations. • Select, order, and track materials for projects. • Coordinate factory‑mounted equipment and align with project schedules. • Assist with loading and commissioning system and network‑level controllers. • Validate system functionality and troubleshoot issues with subcontractors. • Provide field change information for as‑built drawings and software updates. • Communicate progress, challenges, and solutions to project teams and customers. • Deliver owner/operator training on building control systems. • Participate in release meetings to ensure field team alignment. • Perform value engineering to deliver cost‑effective solutions. • Mentor Systems Design Assistants as needed. • Adhere strictly to safety standards and promote a Zero Harm policy.

What You Bring

We require a bachelor’s degree in engineering and at least three years of relevant experience, along with a strong understanding of the HVAC or construction industry and solid knowledge of control theory, building automation systems, and low‑voltage subsystems. Experience integrating building systems using protocols such as LON or BACnet, the ability to explain technical concepts to non‑technical audiences, and advanced computer‑aided drafting skills are also essential. • Bachelor’s degree in engineering with at least 3 years relevant experience. • Strong HVAC or construction industry knowledge and control theory expertise. • Experience with building automation protocols such as LON or BACnet. • Ability to explain technical concepts to non‑technical audiences. • Proficiency with computer‑aided drafting tools.
