About the Role

The Hydro Vacuum Operator safely operates a heavy‑duty Hydro Vac truck, performing trenching, potholing, tank cleaning and navigating rural, off‑highway, high‑traffic roadways and oil‑field environments. • Operate vehicle in compliance with WM safety rules, OSHA, DOT and all applicable laws. • Supervise and mentor Hydro‑Vac Swampers, delegating tasks and coaching for skill development. • Set up and inspect grounding and bonding procedures for Hydro‑Vac operations. • Complete required paperwork accurately and within established timelines. • Perform pre‑ and post‑trip equipment inspections, document DVIR, and report inefficiencies. • Follow WM policies, ensure Swampers maintain standards, and use appropriate PPE. • Attend all required training programs, briefings, and meetings. • Collaborate with managers to improve efficiencies and identify best practices. • Notify manager of any incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage. • Perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, reaching, handling, sitting, talking and hearing in indoor and outdoor conditions.

What You Bring

The position may require a REAL ID or TSA‑approved alternative for air travel or access to federal property; candidates must be willing to obtain this if necessary. • Minimum 1 year prior work experience. • At least 18 years old and legally eligible to work in the United States. • Pass pre‑employment DOT drug screen and physical examination. • Ability to read road maps or follow written directions. • Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License with air‑brake and tanker endorsement.
