About the Role

The Journeyperson Electrician reports to the Production Supervisor and is primarily responsible for installing and terminating conduit, cable, equipment, panels, sensors, and various control components for Silent-Aire Limited Partnership. The role also involves constructing and fabricating control panels, installing interlocking wiring, and performing wiring check‑outs. Key duties include interpreting blueprints and schematics, following vendor manuals, completing daily work orders, and maintaining detailed maintenance documentation. The electrician assists in training, directing, and supervising apprentices, monitors parts usage, and helps prepare preventative and predictive maintenance schedules while proposing modifications to improve system efficiency. Installation tasks cover conduit, cable, equipment, panels, sensors, and control devices, as well as rough and finish wiring of control systems. All work must comply with NEC, NESC, NFPA, and UFC standards, and include troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of electrical control circuits for motors and other devices. • Interpret blueprints and schematics to plan work. • Install and terminate conduit, cable, equipment, panels, sensors, and control devices. • Construct and fabricate control panels and perform rough and finish wiring. • Install interlocking wiring and conduct wiring checkout per NEC, NESC, NFPA, UFC standards. • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical control circuits for motors and devices. • Complete daily work orders and maintain accurate maintenance reports. • Train, supervise, and certify work of apprentices and junior staff. • Monitor parts usage and report material issues. • Propose modifications to improve system efficiency. • Ensure compliance with safety programs and Alberta OHS regulations. • Maintain knowledge of evolving technology, compliance, and repair techniques.

What You Bring

The candidate must be a licensed Journeyperson Electrician with experience in assembling, disassembling, troubleshooting, and repairing machinery. Strong abilities in reading blueprints, effective verbal and written communication, analytical thinking, supervising apprentices, and attention to detail are essential, along with a solid work ethic and team‑oriented attitude. Working conditions involve lifting up to 50 lb, manual dexterity, exposure to industrial hazards, and the need for personal protective equipment. The role requires long periods of standing, occasional overtime, and adherence to safety policies and Alberta Occupational Health and Safety regulations. • Demonstrate licensed journeyperson electrician status and strong blueprint reading ability. • Supervise and mentor apprentices; possess strong attention to detail and teamwork. • Work in commercial/industrial settings, lift up to 50 lb, stand for long periods, and perform overtime as needed.
