About the Role

The Senior Security Engineer will communicate and reinforce security concepts to both technical and non‑technical audiences across the CoStar Enterprise, implementing and updating security software for vulnerability management, remediation, endpoint protection, and incident response orchestration. As the security function expands, the engineer will lead the adoption of new tools, act as a self‑starter, and help move security initiatives forward. • Serve as escalation tier for incident handling. • Lead incident response functions and report findings. • Review technical security posture for existing and newly acquired businesses or services. • Act as team expert on MITRE ATT&CK, tools, techniques, and practices of cyber attackers. • Perform security review and monitoring of production environment, including user permissions, open ports/services, and network setup. • Examine network, server, and application logs to identify trends and security incidents. • Use security tools to audit infrastructure, detect issues, and coordinate remediation. • Conduct threat hunting across the CoStar enterprise. • Develop and improve network and endpoint security configuration procedures. • Collaborate with other teams to remediate discovered deficiencies. • Participate in 24x7 on-call rotation.

What You Bring

Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, have at least six years of information‑security experience, and possess relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or GIAC. Required skills include scripting (Perl, Python, PowerShell) and familiarity with Windows Server 2012‑2019 and Active Directory. Preferred qualifications include strong oral and written communication, experience with Microsoft security tools (Defender, Sentinel, EOP), ability to produce detailed technical documentation, solid organizational and customer‑service skills, and proficiency with standard PC software. • Script responses to observed threats. • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited, non‑profit university or college. • Demonstrated commitment to prior employers. • One or more security certifications (e.g., SANS/GIAC, CISSP, CISM, GCIH, CEIH) or equivalent. • Minimum 6 years of experience in Information Security. • Scripting/programming skills in Perl, Python, or PowerShell. • Experience with Windows Server 2012/2016/2019 and Active Directory. • Excellent oral and written communication across departments and locations. • Experience with Microsoft security tools (Defender, Sentinel, EOP) a plus. • Ability to produce detailed technical documentation. • Proficiency with PC software applications, email, and related systems. • Strong organizational skills to deliver quality work on schedule. • Excellent customer service skills.
