About the Role

The technician supports both production and engineering teams, emphasizing fabrication, machining, equipment builds, and hands‑on mechanical work, and reports directly to the Manufacturing Engineering Department. Key duties include collaborating with engineers on new equipment builds and retrofits, performing reverse‑engineering, assembling mechanical, pneumatic and structural systems, and conducting MIG/TIG welding on fixtures and custom components. The role also involves operating laser‑cutting and press‑brake equipment, manual and CNC machining, and supporting lean improvement initiatives to boost equipment uptime and production throughput. Additional responsibilities include assisting maintenance with troubleshooting, part fabrication, equipment rigging, and shop improvements. • Build and assemble mechanical, pneumatic, and structural equipment from concept through production handoff. • Perform MIG and TIG welding on fixtures, frames, and custom components. • Conduct reverse‑engineering and upgrades of existing equipment. • Operate laser‑cutting systems, including setup, basic programming, and verification. • Use press brake for bending and forming as needed. • Measure dimensions with calipers, micrometers, and other precision tools. • Participate in lean events and continuous‑improvement projects to increase uptime and efficiency. • Develop or improve fixtures, tooling, and workstations to reduce waste. • Assist maintenance with mechanical troubleshooting, part fabrication, and equipment modifications. • Rig, move, and position equipment throughout the facility, including staging and shipping preparation. • Read and interpret engineering drawings, prints, and sketches. • Apply basic electrical wiring for sensors and switches. • Utilize Microsoft Office and SolidWorks (or basic CAD) for documentation and design support.

What You Bring

Regal Rexnord is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Technician with a fabrication focus. The role works full‑time on a Monday‑through‑Thursday schedule (5 am‑3:30 pm) with Fridays off and overtime as needed, and offers an hourly rate of $25‑$35. Candidates must have at least three years of maintenance or fabrication experience in a manufacturing environment, strong mechanical aptitude, and proficiency with laser cutting, MIG welding, manual milling and turning, and interpreting measuring tools. Forklift operation, a valid driver’s license, and experience with rigging and equipment moving are also required. Preferred qualifications include TIG welding experience, CNC or Prototrak machining, basic electrical knowledge, familiarity with Microsoft Office and SolidWorks CAD, and an associate degree or technical training in machining, welding, or engineering technology. The position requires physical capability to traverse the production floor, lift up to 75 lb with assistance, and perform tasks such as bending, kneeling, squatting, and using precision hand tools while wearing required personal protective equipment. • Fabricate or modify parts on manual mills and lathes; CNC/Prototrak experience preferred. • Operate forklifts and hold a valid driver’s license.
