About the Role

The Senior Technical Advisor supervises and leads a group of engineers, providing technical direction and overseeing employee performance appraisals, coaching, and development of lower‑level professionals. The role plans, budgets, organizes, and controls an important segment of a highly diversified engineering program or an entire program of moderate scope, and is accountable for measurable assets such as assigned staff and budget. • Supervise, coach, and evaluate a team of engineers. • Plan, budget, organize, and control engineering programs or segments. • Specify and apply rotating machinery such as compressors, turbines, and pumps. • Provide technical guidance on fluid/thermal systems, machine design, and rotordynamic analysis. • Ensure compliance with current API standards for rotating equipment. • Lead projects through scheduling, progress measurement, and change‑order development.

What You Bring

The position typically requires a degree in Mechanical or allied Engineering with a minimum of 20 years of related experience, often averaging 25‑30 years. The incumbent must be knowledgeable in the specification and application of rotating machinery—including compressors, turbines, and pumps—as well as utility equipment, packaged units, material handling, and bulk solids processing systems. In‑depth understanding of fluid/thermal systems, machine design, rotordynamic principles, and current API standards for rotating equipment is required. A B.E. or B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent field is required, along with a willingness to obtain Professional Engineer licensure if not already held. Experience with chemical, petrochemical, refining, and oil‑and‑gas projects—especially LNG liquefaction, ammonia, ethylene, and offshore facilities—is preferred, as is installation and commissioning experience. Prior engineering contractor experience and a proven track record of leading projects, including meeting with project management, schedule progress measurement, and development of change orders, are essential. • Hold a Mechanical Engineering degree with 20+ years of experience (average 25‑30 years). • Possess or be willing to obtain Professional Engineer licensure. • Experience with chemical, petrochemical, refining, LNG, ammonia, ethylene, and offshore projects. • Prior engineering contractor background with installation and commissioning experience.
