Commercial HVAC - Service Manager

About the Role

The Service Manager leads field technicians and operations professionals to execute planned maintenance, repair, overhaul and installation projects, aiming to exceed customer expectations while meeting revenue and margin targets. • Ride‑along with technicians, expand sales support relationships, and address customer issues or complaints. • Maintain direct connections with technicians, workforce planning, union relations, onboarding, and tech acquisition. • Lead safety trainings as EHS team lead, oversee fleet, conduct site visits, and ensure job‑site quality assurance. • Develop opportunities, oversee site visits, coordinate scheduling with the Service Coordinator, and plan productive versus non‑productive work. • Review preventive‑maintenance plans for renewals and new contracts. • Approve daily time entries, weekly payroll, and resolve related issues. • Provide warranty support, ensure technical engagement, and conduct site inspections on every visit. • Act as primary point of contact for technician issues and resolve daily on‑site challenges. • Assist with mid‑month and monthly service financial forecasting.

What You Bring

Carrier Commercial Service is hiring an experienced HVAC Commercial Service Manager for the New Jersey market. The role carries profit‑and‑loss responsibility for a multi‑million‑dollar service branch and is charged with growing market share of the Carrier Commercial Service business. Required qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, a clean and valid driver’s license, and at least five years of commercial service experience. Preferred qualifications comprise five or more years of commercial service management experience, a bachelor’s degree in business management or engineering, strong technical acumen, extensive HVAC product knowledge, and proficiency with business tools such as Salesforce, ServiceMax and ERP systems. • Minimum high school diploma/GED and a clean, valid driver’s license. • At least 5 years of commercial service experience; 5+ years in commercial service management preferred. • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management or Engineering preferred. • Strong technical acumen with extensive HVAC product and systems knowledge. • Proficiency in customer relationship management and safe work practices. • Ability to interpret local building codes and develop practical solutions. • Competent in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Salesforce.com, ServiceMax, ERP and related applications.
