About the Role

• Install, repair, and inspect smoke and fire suppression systems • Inspect, test, and repair fire alarm wiring, panels, and peripheral equipment • Identify hazards, defects, and determine needed adjustments or repairs • Inspect, repair or replace smoke/heat detectors and sprinkler heads • Repair and test wet/dry fire suppression systems; conduct diagnostic testing of fire alarm devices • Ensure work complies with relevant fire codes and standards • Read and interpret system design plans, construction drawings, and related documents • Perform smoke detector sensitivity testing and routine equipment maintenance

What You Bring

We are seeking a dedicated Fire Protection Operations and Maintenance Specialist who is detail‑oriented, safety‑focused, and skilled in fire codes, standards, and best practices. The specialist conducts inspections, performs maintenance, and implements proactive measures to keep fire safety systems reliable and compliant. Strong problem‑solving, technical expertise, and communication skills are essential for risk assessment, troubleshooting, and stakeholder engagement. This contingent position is contingent on contract award and will be located in Alice Springs at a 4,400‑acre facility comprising about 687,000 sq ft of mission and support space. The role requires 100 % on‑site presence. Candidates must be U.S. or Australian citizens and meet clearance and qualification requirements. • Minimum five years’ experience with fire protection equipment and systems • NICET Level II or III certification; maintain qualifications per US DoD UFC or Australian equivalent • US or Australian citizenship; ability to obtain TS/SCI with polygraph or Australian PV clearance • Bachelor’s degree preferred
