About the Role

The role oversees planning, organization, and management of the Manufacturing Engineering Department, supervising product, process, plant, assembly, and engineering projects to enhance capability, yield, cost, and waste. Responsibilities include annual budget preparation, capital project funding, resource allocation, and qualification of new products and raw materials. The manager also supports recruitment, drives safety, quality, delivery, inventory, and productivity improvements, and leads continuous-improvement initiatives such as value-stream mapping and Kaizen events. Effective communication across internal and external stakeholders ensures cost, quality, and delivery goals are met, while leadership, coaching, and employee-relations activities foster a high-performing engineering team. The manager ensures compliance with regulatory standards, company policies, and health-and-safety procedures, identifying hazards, conducting investigations, and promoting safety program enhancements. • Supervise product, process, plant, manufacturing, assembly, and engineering projects. • Direct annual budget preparation and manage capital project funding. • Lead a team of ~8 engineering staff, delegating workloads and allocating resources. • Manage qualification of new products and raw materials for production. • Conduct interviewing and selection for engineering department vacancies. • Drive improvements in safety, quality, delivery, inventory, and productivity across all departments. • Implement continuous-improvement tools such as value-stream mapping, Kaizen events, and lean methodologies. • Participate in production decisions to assess and improve equipment and capacity. • Coordinate engineering communication with internal and external stakeholders to meet cost, quality, and delivery objectives. • Provide leadership, coaching, and development to engineering personnel. • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and company policies on the production floor. • Assist in developing job safety analyses and safe work procedures. • Identify and correct hazards and unsafe conditions. • Participate in accident, near-miss, or potential hazard investigations. • Contribute to health-and-safety training and suggest program improvements. • Recommend alternatives to enhance production methods, equipment, and working conditions.

What You Bring

Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering, have at least five years of manufacturing engineering experience in a plant environment, and a minimum of three years of lean manufacturing and Six Sigma experience. Additional expertise in hose manufacturing processes, capital appropriation, safety programs, and project management is preferred, and the ability to relocate in the future is helpful. • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited institution. • Minimum five years of manufacturing engineering experience in a plant/factory. • Minimum three years of lean manufacturing and Six Sigma experience. • Ability to relocate in the future (helpful). • Expertise in hose manufacturing processes, capital appropriation, safety and environmental programs, and equipment design. • Strong project management and troubleshooting skills.
