About the Role

• Cut insulation to specified size using electric band saws and abrasive wheels. • Adhere insulation material to proper size and angles with adhesive before cutting. • Load finished insulation pieces in boxes for shipment to order site. • Retrieve necessary supplies from warehouse using forklift. • Read and write order specifications and label finished product. • Apply basic math to follow order specifications. • Clean area after cutting. • Inspect equipment condition before use and perform regular maintenance (e.g., lubricate, change blades). • Follow safety regulations and company specifications for material handling and equipment operation. • Apply shop mathematics to solve problems. • Plan work and select proper tools. • Compare and discern differences in size, shape, and form of lines, figures, and objects. • Visualize objects in three dimensions from plans and drawings. • Make decisions based on measurable criteria. • Perform climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, handling, and fingering as required.

What You Bring

The Journeyman position requires a minimum of three years of documented field experience. It involves cutting, adhering, and installing insulation and metal shielding according to site specifications while maintaining a clean fabrication area. The employee must be able to read and follow print drawings for installation and dismantling of equipment. Candidates should possess a high school diploma or equivalent and rely on established instructions and guidelines to perform their duties. The role operates under immediate supervision, with the employee typically reporting to a supervisor or manager. Basic math skills and clear verbal or written communication are required to follow order specifications and coordinate job tasks. The job demands physical stamina, including standing, walking, and sitting for extended periods, as well as lifting and carrying up to 50 lb and performing activities such as climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, handling, and fingering as needed. Safety regulations must be followed at all times, and equipment must be inspected and maintained regularly. • Communicate verbally or in writing about job tasks and procedures. • Stand (60% of time), walk (20%), sit (20%). • Lift and carry up to 50 lb; push and pull up to 70 ft‑lb.
