About the Role

The Maintenance Technician for multifamily properties is responsible for delivering quality move‑ins, resident satisfaction, and prompt service. This role supports residents with personal attention and helps uphold Cush‑Wakefield’s commitment to superior customer service. Daily duties include preparing vacant units for occupancy—painting, carpet repair, cleaning and minor repairs—responding quickly to resident service requests, and performing routine maintenance on plumbing, HVAC, electrical, carpentry, painting and snow removal. The technician also maintains common‑area amenities such as grounds, pools, hot tubs and dog parks, reports any issues to the supervisor, and may be on‑call for after‑hour emergencies. • Prepare make‑ready apartments (paint, carpet repair, cleaning, minor repairs) • Respond promptly and professionally to resident service requests • Perform routine maintenance on plumbing, HVAC, electrical, carpentry, painting, and snow removal • Maintain grounds, pools, hot tubs, common areas, and dog‑park amenities • Participate in on‑call schedule for after‑hours emergencies • Report maintenance issues in vacant units, model homes, and common areas to the supervisor • Follow state, local, and federal fair‑housing laws • Attend required training programs and stay current on safety procedures • Wear company‑issued uniform and adhere to professional appearance standards • Maintain safety protocols and care for company tools and equipment • Read and interpret policy manuals, safety rules, and maintenance instructions • Write routine reports and correspondence

What You Bring

The position requires a valid driver’s license and EPA‑608 certification (Type II and CPO) or equivalent local certification, as well as the ability to read and follow manuals, safety rules and maintenance instructions. Strong basic math, problem‑solving, report‑writing and safety‑procedure compliance skills are essential. Applicants must have a high school diploma, GED, or trade/technical/vocational education, and at least one year of related maintenance experience. Work is performed in a professional office setting with regular travel between properties, often in varied weather conditions. Physical demands include prolonged standing and walking, climbing ladders, lifting up to 100 lb, and up to 10 % travel time. • Achieve high productivity through reliable, punctual attendance • Hold a valid driver’s license and EPA‑608 Type II/CPO certification (or local equivalent) • Perform basic arithmetic, compute ratios/percentages, and interpret simple graphs

Benefits

Compensation ranges from $15.73 to $18.50 per hour with competitive pay based on location, experience and collective bargaining status.
