About the Role

The Assistant Community Manager reports to the Community Manager and is responsible for daily operations, financial stewardship, and resident satisfaction. This role manages rent collection, delinquency mitigation, and oversees all operational phases—including personnel, leasing, maintenance, and risk management—when the Community Manager is absent. • Post payments, process and reconcile daily receivables, and handle bad‑debt follow‑up including notices and evictions. • Execute end‑of‑month closing procedures, maintain organized resident records, and audit files for accuracy. • Screen, hire, train, coach, and supervise onsite staff while ensuring compliance with company policies, fair‑housing, and OSHA standards. • Lead leasing activities: show units, process lease documentation, implement marketing plans, resolve resident complaints, and run retention programs. • Manage customer service, monitor maintenance request turnaround, conduct regular property inspections, and negotiate vendor bids and supplies. • Perform physical tasks such as standing for extended periods, lifting up to 25 lb, climbing ladders or stairs, and working overtime or in varied weather conditions.

What You Bring

• Education/Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree preferred; 1‑2 years housing industry experience; basic computer skills; knowledge of Fair Housing Laws and OSHA.
