About the Role

The WFSM Technician provides technical expertise and field assessments for plumbing, fire‑suppression, water‑treatment, fuel storage/distribution systems, and associated controls. This role also fulfills BIAT and SMS BUILDER asset‑visibility requirements through high‑quality inventory and condition assessments. • Perform HVAC system condition assessments and inventory validation in SMS BUILDER. • Support maintenance‑based assessments during preventive maintenance and document updates per work closeout rules. • Identify inventory or assessment discrepancies and correct them within required timelines. • Provide system‑level recommendations to leadership for prioritization and investment planning. • Participate in Sub‑AMP working groups and help develop balanced preventive‑maintenance plans and corrective‑maintenance strategies. • Support data quality standards and assist with quarterly reviews of shop data entry quality and timeliness. • Coordinate with Operations Flight shops on work‑task grouping and deconfliction for WRRB submissions.

What You Bring

• Basic qualification: equivalent of Air Force 5‑level (or equivalent) with 5+ years experience in plumbing, fire suppression, water treatment, fuel storage/distribution, and associated controls; required AFIT courses WENG 200, WMGT 231, WMGT 417; ability to document condition and inventory data to required standards and timelines. • Preferred qualification: experience supporting environmental/public health compliance workflows related to utilities, including sampling and reporting coordination; BUILDER assessor experience and familiarity with Uniformat II/NISTIR 6389 nomenclature; experience supporting outage coordination and system lifecycle sustainment planning.
