What You Bring

Downer Rail is seeking an experienced Project Delivery Risk Manager to proactively manage project risks and opportunities throughout the delivery lifecycle, ensuring project goals and contractual commitments are met. The role works with internal stakeholders to identify and address risks, support mitigation efforts, and help projects achieve target margins and financial objectives by collaborating with risk owners for timely risk reduction and opportunity development. • 7–10 years of relevant experience (rail industry desirable but not required) • Experience managing risk across the full project lifecycle, from initiation to closeout • Proven track record of margin improvement through risk retirement and opportunity realization • Ability to translate technical delivery risks into actionable mitigation plans • Advanced experience with risk & opportunity management tools and PBI reporting (e.g., ARM, @risk) • Familiarity with project scheduling tools and integration with risk registers (MS Project, P6) • Strong understanding of project management, control, and contractual risk processes • Commercial management skills, including contract interpretation and legislation knowledge • Advanced analytical, planning, and financial budgeting capabilities
