About the Role

The Operations Supervisor – Hauling Operations oversees collection activities across commercial, residential, roll‑off, and container services within a geographically dispersed area. Working with the Operations Manager and General Manager, the supervisor drives functional excellence, safety, customer experience, efficiency, and budget achievement while ensuring compliance with all regulatory and ethical standards. In the safety domain, the supervisor leads initiatives to achieve safety goals, removes unsafe conditions from driver routes, and collaborates with sales and maintenance to address hazards for new customers and equipment. They oversee accident‑prevention programs and foster a culture of safety through active employee engagement. Customer experience responsibilities include delivering service that meets or exceeds expectations, managing missed pickups, and resolving equipment breakdowns or schedule changes with timely communication to all stakeholders. The supervisor acts as a positive representative of the company to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty. Efficiency duties involve setting productivity goals, monitoring labor hours and disposal expenses, and guiding drivers to exceed performance targets. The supervisor optimizes routes, reduces route hours through service conversions and container upsizing, and supports fleet maintenance to ensure reliable service delivery while meeting budgeted objectives. • Provide leadership to achieve safety goals and remove unsafe conditions from driver routes. • Partner with sales and maintenance teams to address safety concerns for new routes and equipment. • Oversee accident‑prevention programs and foster a culture of safety among all employees. • Deliver service that meets or exceeds customer expectations, manage missed pickups, and resolve issues promptly. • Communicate schedule changes, equipment breakdowns, and unusual service requests to stakeholders in a timely manner. • Establish productivity goals, monitor labor hours and disposal expenses, and exceed route efficiency targets. • Optimize and redesign routes to increase density, reduce hours, and improve overall efficiency. • Support fleet maintenance and quality to ensure reliable service delivery. • Build a collaborative team environment, coach employees, and develop talent for advancement. • Direct large staff, set aggressive results‑oriented goals, and marshal resources to meet objectives. • Apply strong problem‑solving, analytical, and critical‑thinking skills in decision making. • Participate in Employee Assistance Program, discount programs, and a retirement plan with company match.
