About the Role
As an intern you will work on a high‑functioning team, providing design services for a wide variety of transportation structures under the guidance and mentorship of experienced engineers. Most interns convert to full‑time employees. The role includes 3D modeling, design, and drafting of bridges, culverts, retaining walls, and sign structures; assisting with quantity calculations, cost estimates, construction contract documents, and reviewing shop drawings; coordinating with other disciplines; and supporting inspection report reviews and bridge load ratings under supervision. • Perform 3D modeling, design, and drafting for bridges, culverts, retaining walls, and sign structures. • Assist with quantity take‑offs and cost estimating. • Develop and review construction contract documents and shop drawings. • Coordinate activities with other engineering disciplines. • Review inspection reports and conduct bridge load ratings under supervision.

What You Bring
Candidates must be currently enrolled in an ABET‑accredited civil engineering program with a focus on structures, have a demonstrated interest in bridge design, basic knowledge of bridge design principles, familiarity with MicroStation/AutoCAD, proficiency in MS Office, and strong communication and teamwork skills. Preferred qualifications include experience with Revit, Civil 3D, or STADD. • Enrolled in an ABET‑accredited civil engineering program (undergraduate or graduate) focusing on structures. • Demonstrated interest in bridge design through coursework or prior internships. • Familiarity with MicroStation or AutoCAD; proficient in MS Office. • Strong written and oral communication, teamwork, problem‑solving, and critical‑thinking skills. • Preferred: experience with Revit, Civil 3D, or STADD.
