About the Role

As Team Manager for SCM you will oversee a team of 10‑15 direct reports, including project managers and specialists. You will manage team operations, resource allocation, competency development and people performance. Your duties include creating SCM strategies, ensuring project execution, handling RFQs, negotiating with suppliers, and monitoring deliveries with internal stakeholders. You will also collaborate with cross‑functional teams, suppliers and customers. Key impact areas include medium‑to‑long‑term resource planning based on tender and project forecasts, achieving departmental KPIs such as on‑time delivery, productivity and efficiency, and meeting the financial budget. You will review and approve techno‑economic offers, assess risks and opportunities, run routine reviews with project and cross‑functional teams, and recruit personnel within the head‑count budget. You will ensure compliance with Hitachi Energy Group standards, health and safety, and conduct performance assessments, target setting and succession planning for your team. • Lead and develop a team of 10‑15 project managers and specialists in SCM. • Create and implement SCM strategies to support GPQSS project delivery. • Plan resources long‑term based on tender and project forecasts. • Ensure departmental KPIs such as on‑time delivery, productivity and efficiency. • Manage financial budget and approve techno‑economic offers. • Conduct RFQs, negotiate with suppliers, and monitor delivery performance. • Coordinate with cross‑functional teams, suppliers and customers. • Recruit staff within head‑count budget and oversee performance assessments. • Ensure compliance with Hitachi Energy Group standards, health and safety. • Identify development needs, implement succession planning and competence building.

What You Bring

The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering with SCM experience, and has at least 10 years of supply‑chain project and category management experience, preferably with CPSM or PMP certification. Strong knowledge of project schedules, procurement, manufacturing and logistics processes in project environments is required, along with proficiency in Excel, Power BI, ERP systems (SAP, Oracle) and MS Office. Proven leadership experience of 4‑5 years as a line manager or team leader, excellent communication in English, and genuine interest in technical components and people are essential. • Require bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering with 10+ years SCM experience. • Hold CPSM or PMP certification and strong project‑management knowledge. • Proficient in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP), Power BI, ERP (SAP/Oracle) and MS Office. • Minimum 4‑5 years proven leadership experience as line manager or team leader. • Excellent spoken and written English; ability to work in large project environments.
