About the Role
The Distribution Mechanic III role maintains and repairs equipment, piping systems, valves, and machinery at the Baltimore power plant. This full‑time, hourly, union position reports to the Distribution Manager and offers $34.16 per hour plus a 10 % bonus target. • Maintain safe working conditions and report unsafe environments. • Install, repair, replace, and troubleshoot piping systems, valves, steam traps, and pumps. • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance. • Respond immediately to emergency situations. • Participate in ongoing craft and welding training. • Take rotating on‑call duty during weekends, back shifts, and holidays. • Maintain a valid driver’s license and meet company vehicle insurance standards.

What You Bring
The position requires safe work practices, troubleshooting and repairing piping, steam traps, pumps, performing preventive maintenance, responding to emergencies, and participating in training for craft and welding skills. The mechanic must be available for overtime, rotating on‑call shifts, weekends, back shifts, and holidays. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of industrial maintenance experience. Preferred qualifications include the ability to work with minimal supervision and basic computer/email skills. Additional required credentials are a valid MD 4th or 5th Grade Stationary Engineers License, one year of pipefitting, welding and rigging certification. Physical requirements include a valid driver’s license, ability to lift up to 50 lb, work in confined spaces, climb up to 100 ft, tolerate heat, and meet pre‑employment screenings and drug testing. • Operate hand and power tools competently. • Communicate effectively in oral and written form. • Hold a valid MD 4th or 5th Grade Stationary Engineers License. • Possess at least one year of pipefitting, welding, and rigging experience. • Work with minimal supervision and basic computer/email proficiency.
