About the Role

• Review project plans, specifications, drawings, and schedules to understand scope and requirements. • Prepare detailed cost estimates covering labor, materials, equipment, subcontractor services, and other expenses. • Use estimating software (e.g., McCormick, Bluebeam) to ensure precision and consistency. • Adjust estimates for market conditions, labor rates, and material costs. • Work with the bid team to develop compliant bid proposals. • Participate in bid meetings and presentations, explaining pricing rationale. • Solicit and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotes to secure competitive pricing. • Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and subcontractors. • Produce regular reports on cost tracking and estimating accuracy. • Coordinate with Engineering and Project Management to resolve ambiguities. • Share insights and best practices to improve estimating capabilities. • Work for a leading nationwide electrical contracting organization.

What You Bring

• Minimum 5 years of electrical estimating experience. • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, construction management, or related field (or equivalent experience). • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite. • Proven track record as an electrical estimator in construction, especially with electrical systems and installations. • Strong knowledge of electrical construction practices, materials, and methodologies. • Familiarity with estimating software such as McCormack and Bluebeam. • Excellent analytical, mathematical, and detail‑oriented skills. • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities for collaboration with internal teams, clients, vendors, and subcontractors. • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast‑paced environment. • Knowledge of local construction market and regulations (preferred). • Practical experience with new construction and renovation projects.
