About the Role
This entry‑level Engineering Technologist position is responsible for applying technical skills to evaluate options and design safe, cost‑effective, and reliable electrical facilities for residential, commercial, and industrial projects. Incumbents are expected to have a basic understanding of client design and workflow processes, data entry, and the technical specialties of the organization. • Learn, practice, and promote all safety policies and procedures 100% of the time. • Apply applicable codes, regulations, policies, and procedures to assigned work. • Safely conduct job‑site visits and interact with construction personnel. • Use the company’s design software and work‑management tools effectively. • Prepare project packages with material lists, requisitions, labor estimates, and drawings in a cost‑effective, safe, and reliable manner. • Accurately evaluate loading on distribution equipment such as transformers and fuses. • Communicate job status regularly to meet client expectations and delivery dates. • Develop professional relationships with internal and external customers while supporting business goals. • Maintain files and records in an organized manner. • Receive mentorship from experienced personnel, supervision, management, and professional engineers.

What You Bring
Candidates must have at least a high school diploma or GED, with preference given to an associate or bachelor’s degree in a science, math, or business field. Experience of 0‑1 year in power distribution engineering, GIS/CAD, or related crafts is desired, and no specific certifications are required. The position requires basic language and mathematical abilities, the capacity to follow written and oral instructions, and strong interpersonal skills for interacting with diverse customers and team members. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, a valid driver’s license, and willingness to assist in storm restoration activities are also required. • Learn utility construction practices on public right‑of‑way and private land.
