About the Role

ISO New England operates as the independent system operator that ensures safe and reliable electricity flow across the region, while also planning for the future of the grid as New England moves toward clean energy. As the Planning Coordinator for New England's networked transmission system, the team provides technical leadership, coordination, and facilitation across ISO‑NE and among regional stakeholders. In this position you will perform transmission planning studies, simulate system behavior, analyze results, and develop recommendations that maintain reliability and economic efficiency of the regional electric power system. • Perform transmission planning studies and simulate system behavior • Analyze simulation results and develop reliability and efficiency recommendations • Provide technical and procedural leadership and coordination with stakeholders • Conduct reliability studies and develop data, assumptions, and methodology • Support NEPOOL, NPCC, and NERC committees on transmission planning issues • Engage stakeholders to gather input and address concerns • Recommend new business processes and planning procedures • Assist with Transmission Planning group administration • Apply planning criteria and conduct computer simulations of system performance

What You Bring

Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and be able to conduct reliability studies, develop data and methodology, support regional committee work, interact with stakeholders, and improve planning processes while communicating effectively both orally and in writing. Preferred qualifications include a focus on power systems, a Master’s degree, experience in electric system operations or transmission planning, a Professional Engineering license, and the ability to travel up to 5 % of the time. • Talented engineers proficient in the latest transmission modeling applications • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required • Work independently and collaboratively with minimal supervision • Communicate effectively in both oral and written forms • Desirable: Power‑systems concentration within Electrical Engineering • Desirable: Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field • Desirable: Experience in electric system operations or transmission planning • Desirable: Professional Engineering (PE) license
