About the Role
The role involves planning, laying out, and executing all types of structural steel erection and fabrication work in accordance with applicable plans, specifications, codes, and industry standards. The employee may also perform tasks in other trades as appropriate to their training and skills, following direction from a higher skilled worker or foreman. Key duties include sharing knowledge with colleagues, actively seeking to eliminate waste, and applying high proficiency in trade mathematics. The employee must inspect subordinate work for accuracy and compliance, lift items up to 50 pounds, and continuously look for improvements while maintaining positive crew relationships and delivering high‑quality, safe, and productive work. Providing feedback to ensure necessary materials, tools, equipment, and information are available is also essential. • Share knowledge and mentor coworkers. • Identify and eliminate waste such as waiting, rework, transport, storage, and time. • Inspect subordinate work for accuracy and compliance, correcting deficiencies. • Lift and carry items up to 50 lb. • Propose and adopt improvements in methods and tasks. • Maintain positive relationships with crew members. • Deliver high‑quality work safely and productively. • Ensure availability of materials, tools, equipment, and information. • Read and interpret drawings, specifications, safety, and quality standards. • Navigate confined, cluttered, and uneven work areas. • Use hands frequently to grasp, lift, and handle objects. • Climb and maintain balance on steel/wood frameworks, ladders, and scaffolds. • Work up to 12‑hour shifts in varying temperatures and outdoor conditions.

What You Bring
Candidates must be able to read and interpret drawings, specifications, safety, and quality standards, and effectively use all relevant trade tools and equipment. They should have three to six or more years of experience in industrial/commercial construction with a deep understanding of the ironworker trade, and possess effective verbal and written communication skills. The job description may change and include additional duties as assigned. Physical requirements include wearing required personal protective equipment, frequent reaching above shoulder height and below the waist, occasional stooping, kneeling, or bending, and limited use of phones or computers. The employee must navigate confined, cluttered, and uneven areas, use hands frequently for grasping and handling, climb and maintain balance on steel/wood frameworks, ladders, and scaffolds, and lift, push, or pull objects up to 50 lb as needed. Shifts may extend up to 12 hours and involve hard physical work in varying temperatures and outdoor conditions. • Apply advanced trade mathematics. • Possess 3–6+ years of experience in industrial/commercial construction as an ironworker. • Demonstrate effective verbal and written communication. • Frequent reaching above shoulder height and below waist; occasional stoop, kneel, or bend.
