About the Role
You will perform assigned system commissioning using Johnson Controls configuration and commissioning tools, troubleshoot and resolve basic HVAC mechanical, electrical, and controls problems, and respond to basic warranty calls. You will load system-level controller software, apply your commercial construction experience on-site, perform complex commissioning and system diagnostics from controllers to end devices such as sensors and actuators, and complete all required commissioning documentation. You will keep management and the JCI contractor or customer informed of job progress, calibrate systems with basic electronic test equipment, handle administrative tasks including timesheets, expense reports, and on-site documentation, and communicate with the contractor or customer upon arrival and before leaving the work site while following all safety standards and training. • Perform system commissioning using Johnson Controls tools and troubleshoot HVAC mechanical, electrical, and control issues. • Load controller software, conduct complex diagnostics, and calibrate systems with electronic test equipment. • Document commissioning results, maintain as-built records, and complete administrative tasks such as timesheets and expense reports. • Communicate job progress to management, contractors, and customers while adhering to safety standards.

What You Bring
We require a two-year degree in electronics, mechanical systems, computer technology, air conditioning, or a similar field, or at least three to five years of industry experience servicing electronic or mechanical HVAC systems. Required knowledge includes HVAC controls, facilities management systems, site preparation, peripheral equipment installation, and servicing techniques. Effective interpersonal skills, the ability to explain technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences, leadership to support mechanics on non-complex building automation equipment, and PC experience with HVAC-related software programming are essential. Experience in the commercial construction industry is also required. • Hold a two-year degree in a related field or 3‑5 years of HVAC industry experience, with knowledge of controls, facilities management, and commercial construction. • Demonstrate strong interpersonal and leadership skills, and proficiency in PC and HVAC software programming.

This is a bargaining unit position with a pay rate of $40.24 per hour as determined by the collective bargaining agreement, and benefits are provided through a local labor union.
