Environmental Permitting - Sr Project Manager
Manage environmental permits and compliance for NYS OGS projects.
Job Highlights
About the Role
• Complete environmental permitting for projects ranging from SEQR short forms to joint applications with multiple agency approvals. • Track and coordinate permit timelines, providing administrative support across all project phases. • Oversee upcoming projects that require environmental review or regulatory compliance and permit processing. • Coordinate environmental impact assessments such as SEQRA. • Conduct procedural requirements to advance and expedite environmental studies, EISs, EAs, and related documents. • Manage consultant deliverables for State projects, covering endangered species, ecology, energy, air/noise, visual, and environmental justice. • Participate in project meetings with staff, consultants, and regulatory agencies; prepare written communications and notices. • Represent design and construction on environmental matters with federal and state regulatory agencies. • Assist in preparing environmental permit applications and other approvals. • At least 50% of work time dedicated to environmental analysis, including preparing/reviewing NYS SEQR impact statements and conducting investigations in water quality, wetlands, air quality, waste management, and mining.

What You Bring
• Minimum eight years of experience in NYS SEQR and Army Corps permitting (master's degree can substitute two years). • Recent NYS work experience (within two years) and fluency with current NYS environmental regulations; preferred experience with NYS agency permits. • Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills; ability to manage multiple project portfolios. • Degree from an accredited college in Environmental Science, Planning, Architecture, Engineering, Landscape Architecture, or a related field. • Experience coordinating with designers and NYS/federal regulatory agencies.

Benefits
We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, and a positive work environment. Compensation ranges from $120,000 to $150,000 per year. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.
