About the Role

The role involves site development engineering and project management for various land development projects, including civil design, permitting, and use of software such as hydrology modeling, storm drainage programs, AutoCAD, and Civil 3D. Responsibilities also include research, coordination, staff management, cost estimating, permitting for land disturbance, preparation of bid packages, and technical specifications. The team member will receive on-the-job and formal training, mentorship, and exposure to plan production, project financials, and client interactions. • Perform site civil design, permitting, and hydrology/storm drainage modeling using AutoCAD and Civil 3D. • Manage land development projects, including research, coordination, staff oversight, cost estimating, and bid package preparation. • Participate in financial wellness programs, including student‑loan matching and performance bonuses.

What You Bring

Kimley-Horn's Miami, Florida (FL) office is seeking a Civil Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with 3+ years of experience to join their Land Development team. This is not a remote position. Candidates need at least 3+ years’ experience with a civil engineering design firm and a bachelor’s or master’s degree from an ABET‑accredited program. An Engineer‑In‑Training or Engineering Intern certification is required, or the ability to obtain it within 12 months. Required skills include working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D, strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication, urgency, self‑initiative, detail‑orientation, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively. • Possess 3+ years experience in a civil engineering design firm and an ABET‑accredited B.S. or M.S. in Civil Engineering. • Hold or obtain Engineer‑In‑Training/Engineering Intern certification within 12 months. • Demonstrate proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and strong communication, urgency, and teamwork skills.
