About the Role
In this role you will lead the conceptual and detailed design of overhead and underground electric power distribution systems, including planning, lighting, grounding, and lightning protection. You will also prepare construction packages, mentor junior engineers, and manage quality‑control reviews. • Design overhead and underground electric power distribution systems, including planning, lighting, grounding, and lightning protection. • Prepare construction packages: plan/profile drawings, structure details, stringing charts, staking tables, and bills of material. • Mentor and supervise junior engineers and designers, assigning tasks and providing guidance. • Conduct quality‑control reviews of work performed by EITs and other designers. • Perform electrical clearance, lighting photometric, load, short‑circuit, overcurrent coordination, and arc‑flash calculations. • Develop engineering analyses to generate design options and cost estimates. • Lead client stakeholder meetings and design review sessions. • Manage project schedules and man‑hour estimates while balancing multiple tasks. • Conduct site visits and construction observations during design, build, and as‑built phases. • Utilize PLS‑CADD, MicroStation/AutoCAD, CYMCAP, ETAP, O‑calc, SpidaCalc, or Pole Foreman for modeling and analysis. • Apply National Electrical Safety Code (NESC) standards to design and construction.

What You Bring
The position requires extensive field involvement, such as site visits during design, construction, and as‑built phases, and the execution of electrical clearance, lighting photometric, load, short‑circuit, and arc‑flash studies. Collaboration on technical reports and client stakeholder meetings is also essential. Preferred candidates bring at least four years of experience in distribution planning and design, proficiency with PLS‑CADD, MicroStation/AutoCAD, CYMCAP, ETAP, and other analysis tools, and solid knowledge of the National Electrical Safety Code. Strong client‑relationship skills are valued. Required qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, a Professional Engineer license, and proven project‑execution experience in the Power Market sector, along with competency in Microsoft Office and industry design software.
