About the Role
The role involves performing engineering duties for multiple Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) field‑based system deployments and assisting in project planning by defining design requirements that align with customer needs. You will create comprehensive project scopes that encompass all required hardware, software, bulk communications platforms, and ancillary components to deliver a functional system that meets project objectives. Technical project activities are carried out to achieve deliverables outlined by the System Deployment Manager, including configuration of electric and water meters, customer hardware and software training, and software system installation. You will maintain project budget control, allocate company resources strategically, and manage issues and risks by logging, analyzing, and initiating corrective actions as needed. Providing application engineering expertise, you will guide customers in utilizing product features to attain expected value and deliver training on installation, operation, and maintenance of Electrical Engineering Systems and Services (EESS) hardware and software. Continuous learning of product capabilities will enable independent issue resolution and help meet customer service metric goals. Process improvement is driven through hardware and software testing, development of training materials, and ensuring product documentation meets customer needs, with feedback provided to management and development teams for enhancement. • Perform engineering duties for AMI field deployments and define design requirements. • Create project scopes covering hardware, software, communications platforms, and ancillary components. • Execute technical activities to configure electric and water meters, conduct training, and install software systems. • Maintain project budget and allocate resources to meet objectives. • Identify, log, analyze, and mitigate issues and risks, initiating corrective actions as needed. • Provide application engineering expertise and train customers on EESS hardware and software. • Continuously learn product features to resolve issues and achieve support metric goals. • Improve processes through hardware/software testing, training material development, and documentation feedback. • Take ownership of assignments, achieve customer satisfaction, and plan/execute product presentations for internal and external audiences. • Apply project‑management methodologies to reduce risk throughout the project lifecycle.

What You Bring
The position requires a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and at least three years of engineering experience. Candidates must possess solid networking knowledge (TCP/IP, SSH, etc.), experience with radio‑frequency and cellular communications systems, communications hardware, firmware, enterprise software, and electrical utility metering equipment and programming tools such as PC Pro+ and L&G 1132. Strong teamwork, time‑management, customer‑service skills, and the ability to multitask in an interrupt‑driven environment are essential. Success in this role includes the ability to lift up to 40 lb, present information persuasively, and assert the leadership role of Systems Application Engineering Manager. Ownership of assignments, achievement of customer satisfaction, and the capability to plan and deliver presentations to internal and external audiences are expected, along with knowledge of front‑end scheduling, engineering, manufacturing lead times, and the use of project‑management methodologies to reduce risk. • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and minimum three years of engineering experience. • Strong networking knowledge (TCP/IP, SSH, etc.) and experience with RF and cellular communications systems. • Experience with communications hardware, firmware, enterprise software, and utility metering equipment and programming tools (e.g., PC Pro+, L&G 1132). • Demonstrated teamwork, time‑management, customer‑service, and multitasking in an interrupt‑driven environment. • Ability to lift up to 40 lb and present information persuasively as a Systems Application Engineering Manager.
