About the Role
The engineer will guide project managers, ensure documentation addresses risk and innovation, and uphold industry standards for safety, quality, and functionality. Duties span data collection, design plan review, compliance with IEEE, NESC, ANSI, and NERC standards, and oversight of procurement, detailed design, and construction phases. • Lead technical support and design for multi‑site utility, industrial, and commercial electrical projects. • Conduct due‑diligence, investigations, impact assessments, permitting, and remediation activities. • Develop and review substation, power distribution, protection, and control system designs compliant with IEEE, NESC, ANSI, and NERC standards. • Collect and analyze site surveys, GIS data, blueprints, and equipment specifications for procurement packages and pricing. • Coordinate and approve electrical infrastructure design plans, ensuring code and regulatory compliance. • Apply high‑level engineering techniques to improve concept development, preliminary and final design, procurement, and construction phases. • Perform detailed investigations of site conditions, grounding, lightning protection, and power plant layouts. • Prepare construction plans, specifications, cost estimates, safety and phasing plans, and update infrastructure layouts. • Oversee implementation of future‑ready technologies, monitoring devices, cabling, conduit, and trenching strategies. • Manage project budgets, track hours and expenses, supervise subcontractors, and ensure quality control. • Review permit applications, engineering contracts, and conduct construction inspections for regulatory compliance. • Mentor junior staff, support professional development, and maintain up‑to‑date engineering practices.

What You Bring
Success is measured by timely project completion, strong client relationships, and mentorship of team members. The position requires self‑management, clear communication of complex technical issues, and coordination with owners, consultants, and regulatory bodies throughout project life cycles. Required qualifications include a B.S. in Electrical Engineering, 10+ years of design experience in power generation, transmission, or distribution, and a professional engineering license (multi‑state preferred). Candidates must be proficient with electrical design principles, infrastructure planning, relevant codes, technical calculations, and advanced software such as CADD, ETAP, and AutoCAD Electrical. • Required: B.S. Electrical Engineering, 10+ years design experience, PE license, proficiency with CADD/ETAP/AutoCAD Electrical and relevant codes. • Preferred: Master’s degree, 40‑hour OSHA HAZWOPER training, First Aid/CPR certification.
