About the Role

The Critical Environments Maintenance Technician focuses on operating, maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing facility equipment across all systems. Individuals are expected to demonstrate technical expertise in one craft area—such as electrical, HVAC, piping/plumbing, or central utility plant operations—and be multi‑skilled in others to complete daily and weekly assignments. The role works a swing shift from Friday to Monday. Day‑to‑day duties include maintaining, monitoring and performing preventive maintenance on all building systems to ensure 100 % uptime. This covers fire/life safety, mechanical systems (HVAC, chillers, CRAC, CRAH, plumbing, controls), electrical systems (lighting, UPS, ATS, STS, PDU, generators, switchgear, transformers) and hot‑water systems. The technician records readings, adjusts equipment as needed, analyzes system performance, and takes corrective action, while complying with hazardous‑material policies and keeping the workplace clean and safe. Responsibilities also involve learning the data‑center site, managing work orders through CMMS, coordinating vendors, handling customer tickets, and following emergency escalation procedures. • Operate, maintain, troubleshoot and repair critical facility equipment across electrical, HVAC, plumbing and utility plant systems. • Perform preventive maintenance and monitor fire/life safety, mechanical, electrical and hot‑water systems to achieve 100 % uptime. • Record system readings, analyze performance data, and implement corrective actions. • Manage work orders, vendor coordination and customer tickets using CMMS tools. • Follow hazardous‑material handling, safety policies and emergency escalation procedures.

What You Bring

Required qualifications include at least two years of experience in a data‑center or critical facility, familiarity with UPS systems, emergency generators and switchgear, strong verbal and written communication skills, and working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Google Suite and CMMS tools. Preferred qualifications are experience with Corrigo, MCIM/Salesforce, Zendesk or ServiceNow, universal EPA 608 certification, and NFPA 70E training. Physical demands involve frequent walking, climbing, bending, kneeling, lifting a minimum of 50 lb, and working at heights using ladders up to 30 ft (300‑lb capacity). The role requires navigating rooftops, stairs, and large campus‑like settings, and the ability to work varied schedules, holidays and respond to site emergencies. • Minimum 2 years experience in data‑center or critical‑facility operations. • Proficient with UPS, emergency generators, switchgear and building automation. • Strong verbal and written communication; skilled in MS Office, Google Suite and CMMS. • Preferred: experience with Corrigo, MCIM/Salesforce, Zendesk or ServiceNow; EPA 608 certification; NFPA 70E training. • Ability to walk, climb stairs/rooftops, lift ≥50 lb and use ladders up to 30 ft with a 300‑lb capacity.

The estimated compensation range is $85,800–$120,000 per year for an on‑site position in Santa Clara, CA. This position does not provide visa sponsorship and candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
