About the Role
The Senior Project Manager role is part of the Industrial, Sciences and Technology team in Leeds, focusing on large‑scale, ground‑up data centre construction for prominent technology clients across the UK. The position oversees the full project lifecycle, from initial concept through to commissioning. Key responsibilities include providing strategic advice at project conception, defining success criteria (time, cost, technical, performance), establishing governance and processes, and producing detailed project plans. The manager also ensures quality, safety, health and environment compliance, leads cross‑functional teams, monitors performance with KPIs, manages change control, and oversees project finances and client communications. Internal accountabilities involve staff management where appropriate, capturing and storing project knowledge in Turner & Townsend’s internal database, ensuring timely client invoicing and financial monitoring, and identifying opportunities for process improvement. • Advise on strategic project conception and define success criteria (time, cost, technical, performance). • Establish project governance, processes, and systems throughout the project lifecycle. • Produce and maintain detailed project plans while managing quality, safety, health, and environmental issues. • Lead cross‑functional teams and facilitate communication with clients and consultants. • Monitor project performance using KPIs and manage change control processes. • Oversee project finances, including budgeting, invoicing, and financial reporting. • Manage staff where appropriate and capture key project learnings in internal databases. • Identify and implement improvements to internal systems and processes.

What You Bring
Candidates must have 5‑10 years of project management experience in data centre or digital environments, professional qualifications in construction, project management, engineering or architecture, and strong expertise in data centre design, development, construction, management and tenant liaison. A comprehensive understanding of the complete project lifecycle, mastery of project management tools and techniques, and excellent written and verbal communication skills are also required. • Required 5‑10 years of project management experience in data centre or digital environments. • Professional qualification in construction, project management, engineering, or architecture. • Expertise in data centre design, development, construction, management, and tenant liaison. • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
