About the Role

The Electrical Maintenance Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems, apparatus, and electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment. This role also coordinates the maintenance and repair of electrical power, lighting, and transportation equipment. Typical duties include installing power supply wiring and conduit for new machines such as conveyors, robots, and programmable controllers, connecting and terminating wires, inspecting installations for code compliance, diagnosing and fixing malfunctioning transformers, motors, lighting fixtures, and other components, testing equipment, and collaborating with other maintenance workers to resolve issues. The technician also replaces faulty relays, switches, motors, rewires motors, services motor bearings, programs controllers, analyzes electrical problems, plans wiring layouts, and repairs mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic parts as needed. • Install power supply wiring and conduit for new machinery, including conveyors, robots, and programmable controllers. • Connect and terminate power supply wires and cables between machines and equipment. • Inspect wiring and fixtures for compliance with specifications and local electrical codes. • Diagnose and repair malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures. • Test equipment, collaborate with maintenance staff to identify faults, and verify repairs. • Replace faulty electrical components, including relays, switches, motors, and wiring. • Service electric motor bearings and rewire motors as needed. • Program and operate programmable controllers to test and troubleshoot automated machinery. • Analyze and resolve electrical problems, providing assistance to other workers. • Plan and install wiring, conduit, and electrical apparatus in building layouts. • Diagnose and replace faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of equipment. • Apply mathematical concepts and reasoning to solve practical engineering problems.

What You Bring

Candidates must have a technical school degree or equivalent, or four to ten years of related experience, and must hold a valid Master Electrician license. Required skills include the ability to read and interpret technical documents, write reports and manuals, present information to diverse audiences, apply mathematical concepts, and solve practical problems with limited standardization. Physical demands involve frequent hand use, sitting, reaching, standing, walking, stooping, and occasional kneeling or crawling.
