About the Role

The position, reporting to the Southern California Transportation Business Group Management team, focuses on identifying and directing business opportunities across highway, transit, freight rail, aviation, and maritime sectors throughout Los Angeles, the Inland Empire, and Orange County. The role blends client relationship management, market analysis, pursuit leadership, marketing collaboration, and strategic and annual planning. • Identify, develop, and lead business opportunities across Southern California transportation sectors (highway, transit, rail, aviation, maritime). • Manage and expand client relationships, targeting key decision‑makers. • Support creation and execution of annual and long‑term strategic growth plans. • Coordinate participation in industry conferences, professional associations, and sponsorships to promote HDR’s brand. • Lead capture planning, proposal development, and quality reviews for strategic pursuits. • Collaborate with marketing services to produce collateral such as qualification packages and specialty brochures. • Pursue high‑value teaming and sponsorship opportunities.

What You Bring

• Deep knowledge of A/E/C procurement processes (preferred). • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field. • Minimum 15 years transportation and A&E consulting experience (preferred) and at least 8 years relevant industry experience (required). • Proven record of business/client development and winning high‑value contracts. • Strong verbal and written communication skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Cloud. • Existing network of local transportation industry leaders advantageous. • Ability to motivate diverse teams, travel as needed, and embody HDR’s core values.
