About the Role

Associate Directors at Turner & Townsend lead business initiatives and manage projects and programmes across public and private sectors such as aviation, highways, rail, environment and utilities. They are expected to drive strategy, oversee multiple disciplines and advisors, and deliver complex, multi‑sector infrastructure programmes through the full lifecycle. • Manage multiple disciplines, teams, advisors and clients on infrastructure projects/programmes across the lifecycle, demonstrating proven success and strategic insight. • Administer NEC3 and NEC4 Engineering and Construction Contracts, currently in a Project Manager role or having completed a representative role within the last 12 months. • Account for health, safety and wellbeing of the team with a practical understanding of CDM and its appropriate application. • Anticipate client challenges, devise sustainable solutions and innovate based on deep stakeholder understanding. • Promote inclusive teamwork, building trust with empathy and fostering a ‘one business’ collaboration mindset across Turner & Townsend and client organisations. • Develop and nurture client and industry partnerships, growing long‑term relationships. • Leverage leadership influence to embody the company’s purpose and vision, expanding impact. • Coach, mentor and encourage development of others, spotting and nurturing emerging talent while maintaining a strong thirst for learning. • Act as a creative, curious role model with a growth mindset, championing inclusive environments. • Manage contractors, consultants and other advisors on infrastructure projects/programmes in varied environments, ideally across multiple sectors.

What You Bring

Due to significant growth and ongoing delivery success, we are seeking Associate Directors who are NEC3 and NEC4 accredited Project Managers to join our expanding team. These high‑calibre leaders will support clients in delivering a wide range of high‑profile infrastructure projects, mentor future Project Managers and help transform together. The role is based in our London office, supporting clients across the South‑East, with a hybrid working pattern as required. • Exhibit excellent leadership by setting high standards, managing performance and efficiently utilizing people and resources to exceed stakeholder expectations, especially in ambiguous environments. • Demonstrate strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, working comfortably with diverse personalities and establishing trusted advisor relationships. • Experience with complex and multiple forms of procurement and managing NEC contracts. • Background in consultancy and/or client‑side project management. • Familiarity with public sector organisations, non‑departmental or arm’s‑length bodies relevant to infrastructure. • Understanding of sustainability and its application to projects/programmes. • NEC3 or NEC4 Accredited Project Manager (essential). • Degree in management, construction or infrastructure‑related subject, or equivalent experience. • Professional affiliation with APM, ICE or an equivalent professional institution. • Project management certification (e.g., APM, PRINCE2, MSP, ChPP). • CSCS or equivalent. • Sustainability qualification (e.g., Carbon Literacy). • Safety qualifications or accreditations. • Soft‑skills or leadership certification.
