What You Bring
Autodesk is seeking a highly motivated Engineering Manager for Search Infrastructure within Autodesk Platform Services. The role involves building a modern, scalable Search Platform that powers search experiences across Autodesk’s Industry Clouds—Fusion, Forma, and Flow—while leading teams that develop scalable cloud services in a fast‑paced, agile environment. Minimum qualifications require a BS or MS in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent experience), 12+ years of hands‑on experience designing and developing cloud‑scale, highly available server applications, and 5+ years of experience leading and mentoring development teams. Candidates must have strong proficiency in Java or a similar language, expertise in AWS, experience building large, highly scalable and resilient cloud data systems, and a track record of managing senior engineering talent and geo‑distributed teams. Preferred qualifications include exposure to information retrieval technologies such as Lucene, ElasticSearch, or OpenSearch, experience with vector databases and machine‑learning infrastructure, and a background in monitoring and improving reliability of complex systems at scale. Awareness of security and compliance challenges in cloud products is also valued. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator who can simplify complex problems, a team‑player focused on delivering comprehensive solutions, and a self‑starter who quickly identifies problems and drives solutions. A commitment to continuous learning and embracing new challenges is essential. • Minimum 12 years of cloud‑scale server application development experience. • Minimum 5 years of leadership, mentoring, and management of engineering teams. • Proficiency in Java (or similar) and expertise in AWS cloud infrastructure. • Experience building large, highly scalable, available, and resilient cloud data systems. • Preferred: hands‑on experience with Lucene, ElasticSearch, or OpenSearch and vector databases. • Preferred: background in monitoring, reliability, and security/compliance for cloud products. • Strong communication, problem‑simplification, and self‑starter mindset.
