About the Role
Work is performed primarily outdoors and in a vehicle, exposing employees to dirt, odors, noise, and weather extremes. Physical tasks include handling containers and operating hoisting equipment, with occasional moderate lifting and the need for fine motor coordination. • Operate commercial refuse/recycling vehicles in compliance with WM safety policies, OSHA, DOT, and all applicable laws. • Conduct pre‑ and post‑trip vehicle inspections and complete Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIR). • Report unsafe conditions, incidents, accidents, property damage, or service interruptions to the Operations Manager or Dispatch. • Participate in all scheduled training programs, briefings, and meetings as required. • Load and unload residential or commercial containers, operate hoisting devices, and assist the driver with backing maneuvers. • Follow assigned routes, empty receptacles, keep customer sites clean, and complete end‑of‑day documentation.
