About the Role
The role involves creating contract documents—drawings, calculations, and specifications—under senior engineer direction, producing detailed drawings, and participating in field inspections of long‑span bridges. Additional duties include extracting information from CAD drawings, preparing engineering computations, material takeoffs, estimates, surveys, and design documents suitable for procurement and construction. Engineers will frequently interface with other disciplines, review contractor drawing submittals, perform technical bid analyses, and issue specifications and data sheets. They will also provide guidance to CAD designers, drafters, and other engineers on the project team. • Develop contract documents, including drawings, calculations, and specifications for bridge designs. • Produce detailed design drawings and perform field inspections of long‑span bridges. • Extract data from CAD models and prepare engineering computations, material takeoffs, estimates, and surveys. • Review contractor submittals, conduct technical bid analyses, and issue construction specifications and data sheets. • Provide guidance to CAD designers, drafters, and fellow engineers on project tasks.

What You Bring
Parsons is seeking a talented Bridge Engineer to develop plan sheets, specifications, and analysis models for a diverse client base, including NYCDOT, NYSDOT, PANYNJ, and TBTA, as well as national and international clients. Projects will include signature spans such as suspension, cable‑stayed, and moveable bridges. Candidates should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s preferred) and have at least five years of bridge design experience. EIT certification, Design‑Build experience, proficiency in MicroStation or AutoCAD, and familiarity with analysis software such as CSiBridge, Larsa, or MDX are considered assets. • Hold a B.S. in Civil or Structural Engineering (M.S. preferred) with 5+ years of bridge design experience. • Possess EIT certification, Design‑Build project experience, and proficiency in MicroStation/AutoCAD and bridge analysis software (e.g., CSiBridge, Larsa, MDX).
