About the Role

The Internal Sales Representative – Concrete Syston will manage a portfolio of customers in a defined geographic region, grow the business through outbound calls, handle pricing for specific customers, work closely with District Sales Managers for a seamless commercial approach, and deliver an excellent customer experience, including order taking and covering the Customer Service Centre when needed. The role covers sales management, sales administration, order management and general product knowledge, with key targets for volume, margin and increasing customer numbers. • Generate new business through structured, proactive outbound calls and planned follow‑up. • Make regular sales calls to existing portfolio customers according to an agreed call plan with specific objectives. • Identify and develop relationships with key prospects and decision‑makers, communicating Hanson’s value and unique selling proposition. • Price jobs for specific customers to agreed volume levels in line with pricing guidelines set with the DSM and CSL. • Conduct market analysis with the DSM, assessing demand, customer segmentation and competitor capabilities. • Identify opportunities to add value and contribute to the customer’s business success. • Price cash‑sale enquiries in line with cash‑sale pricing policy. • Efficiently handle all customer enquiries, generating accurate quotations that meet technical requirements promptly. • Investigate and resolve customer issues and complaints, seeking suitable solutions that protect Heidelberg Materials’ interests. • Liaise with internal and external team members regarding orders, pricing, products and delivery via phone and email. • Escalate customer issues or order details when beyond the incumbent’s authority or control. • Take payment for cash‑sale jobs. • Effectively develop and maintain team morale, supporting colleagues to achieve business goals. • Develop product knowledge for all Heidelberg Materials products. • Develop knowledge of the concrete industry, customers and markets. • Ensure volume and margin targets are met for allocated plants. • Increase customer numbers.
