What You Bring

We are looking for a fully qualified electrician to join the Facilities Maintenance Team in a Category B adult male prison. The team operates like a close‑knit family, supporting each other while ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for prisoners, staff, visitors and the wider community. • BS7671:2018 (18th edition) certification • Level 3 qualification in Electrical Installation or Electrotechnical Services (City & Guilds/EAL) with relevant NVQs and AM2/AM2S competency • Minimum two years’ experience as a fully qualified electrician • Experience with commercial or industrial electrical systems • Knowledge of planned and preventive maintenance operations • Good health & safety knowledge • Strong organisational, time‑management and people skills

Benefits

The position is for a Level 3 Qualified Electrician at HMP Norwich, located on Knox Rd, Norwich NR1 4LU. The role offers a salary of £40,579.20 per annum with a 5 % shift allowance for weekend work, on a permanent full‑time contract of 39 hours per week, Monday to Sunday. As an electrician you will work alongside plumbers, carpenters, painters, cleaners, administrators and fellow electricians, all committed to rehabilitation and positive change.
