Senior Estimator - Data Center Construction

About the Role

The Senior Estimator role supports Turner & Townsend’s Data Center team on a major hyperscale data‑center construction program for a global technology client, encompassing lease, new‑build and mega‑campus projects across multiple regions. • Lead pre‑construction budget development and manage GMP pricing revisions. • Collaborate with the pre‑construction team to develop estimates for hyperscale data‑center projects. • Present cost plans and estimates to client stakeholders and internal teams at key design milestones. • Provide program‑level estimates and drive value‑engineering initiatives to identify cost‑saving opportunities. • Review design changes, new technologies, and construction methods for cost impact. • Coordinate estimating efforts with internal teams, external consultants, and vendors. • Mentor junior estimators and promote best practices and tool usage. • Analyze historical cost data to develop benchmarking and cost‑model trends. • Evaluate alternative materials, systems, and construction methods for cost effectiveness. • Deliver life‑cycle cost models and support total cost of ownership analyses. • Participate in risk assessments and contingency planning related to cost and scope changes. • Ensure compliance with SOX controls where applicable. • Interpret construction drawings, specifications and contract documents accurately. • Manage multiple estimates and deadlines in a fast‑paced, client‑facing environment.

What You Bring

• Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Quantity Surveying or a related field. • Bring 5–10 years of experience in construction cost management, estimating or pre‑construction roles. • Demonstrate proven ability to deliver conceptual and detailed estimates for large‑scale projects. • Possess strong background in value engineering, cost analysis and benchmarking. • Prefer experience on mission‑critical or data‑center projects. • Proficient with estimating tools such as Bluebeam, CostX, RSMeans or similar platforms. • Understand construction methods, materials and market pricing trends. • Communicate effectively in writing and verbally, presenting to clients and senior stakeholders. • Knowledge of life‑cycle costing, total cost of ownership and sustainability considerations is a plus.

Benefits

This full‑time position offers a base salary range of $140 K–$150 K per year, with on‑site presence that may change based on client needs.
