About the Role
AECOM is seeking a Deputy/Program Director to lead K-12 projects in Georgia, overseeing the Education Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (E-SPLOST) Capital Improvement Program for a public school district serving 40,000 students across more than 70 facilities. The role includes design and permitting oversight, consultant management, and coordination with agencies and stakeholders. • Oversee design and permitting for all assigned projects. • Coordinate project requirements with third‑party agencies. • Manage design consultants and construction manager deliverables. • Contribute input for monthly program reports on status and issues. • Review and recommend approval of construction delivery proposals. • Evaluate and advise client on changes to consultant or contractor scopes. • Manage deliverable reviews and resolve comments with consultants. • Review and recommend bulletins and change orders. • Provide technical management of the assigned design consultant. • Chair or participate in progress, design review, and coordination meetings. • Facilitate resolution of technical and contractual issues. • Review contractor requests for information and advise on errors and omissions. • Monitor scope, budgets, schedules, and quality; report deviations promptly. • Implement corrective actions for scope, budget, schedule, and quality issues. • Manage design and construction support activities, including phasing and logistics meetings. • Supervise technical and administrative support staff and coordinate with project administrators. • Evaluate architects/engineers and contractors; provide primary consulting services to clients. • Assess and manage risk on behalf of the client. • Ensure compliance with personal protective equipment and safety protocols. • Resolve difficult project issues that impact schedule or cost.

What You Bring
Candidates must hold a BA/BS in engineering, construction management, architecture or a related field and have at least eight years of relevant experience, including two years in senior project management. Experience with Georgia K-12 programs, GADOE, and construction management of school facilities is required, along with US citizenship and the ability to pass background and drug screens. Preferred qualifications include ten-plus years of vertical construction experience, CCM or PMP certification, and OSHA 30-hour training.
