About the Role
The role concentrates on purchasing indirect materials and services from major suppliers and strategic commodities. It manages the assigned indirect material supply base for South Molton, ensuring uninterrupted supply at optimal cost, quality, and service for each site. The incumbent must be dedicated to maintaining strategic relationships and creating new ones within the supply base. The position balances supplier quality, delivery expectations, and cost‑reduction metrics for all indirect material purchases while championing supply‑chain driven metrics and tracking. It manages supplier relationships and identifies opportunities for cost‑out and product/supplier improvement, ensuring service levels are met. Skilled negotiations with internal and external suppliers, problem resolution, and win‑win solutions are essential. The role identifies opportunities and ensures compliance with existing corporate indirect material supply contracts, increasing managed spend, cost reductions, and category leverage. It monitors new supplier addition requests and consolidates spend into leveraged categories and contracts. All current supplier contacts, business relationships, and commercial responsibilities for the site are maintained. The incumbent develops and facilitates cost‑out projects and commodity strategic actions, supporting corporate commodity teams in site implementation. They also handle supplier inquiries on accounts payable and support invoice resolution and payment issues. Cross‑functional collaboration is used to uncover new opportunities and achieve strategic goals. • Purchase indirect materials and services from major suppliers and strategic commodities. • Manage South Molton’s indirect material supply base to ensure uninterrupted, cost‑effective, high‑quality service. • Maintain and develop strategic supplier relationships, balancing quality, delivery, and cost‑reduction targets. • Lead negotiations, resolve problems, and create win‑win solutions with internal and external stakeholders. • Ensure compliance with corporate contracts, increase managed spend, and achieve category leverage and cost reductions. • Consolidate new supplier requests and leverage spend across categories and contracts. • Oversee supplier contacts, commercial responsibilities, and support invoice and payment issue resolution. • Collaborate cross‑functionally to identify opportunities and drive strategic initiatives. • Analyze total cost drivers and develop cost‑out and outsourcing strategies.

What You Bring
The position requires at least two years of experience in a supply chain or material management function, preferably within aerospace. Candidates must possess expert knowledge in developing commodity strategies, deploying sourcing initiatives, and managing cost‑out and supplier improvement programs, along with strong leadership, strategic thinking, and communication skills. Proficiency in ERP systems, enterprise reporting, data mining, and advanced Microsoft Excel, as well as knowledge of commercial contract terms, is also required. • Require 2+ years of supply chain or material management experience, preferably in aerospace. • Demonstrated expertise in commodity strategy, sourcing, and cost‑out project management. • Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and communication skills with senior stakeholders. • Proficient in ERP systems, enterprise reporting, data mining, and advanced Excel.
