About the Role
This Engineering Specifications Consultant role is based in Washington, DC. The consultant provides technical expertise to MEP firms, design/build contractors, and other specifiers, working closely with internal and external stakeholders to develop and maintain relationships that ensure Viega products are included in applicable project sections and master specifications, while supporting regional business objectives. • Build and maintain long-term relationships with MEP engineers, architects, general contractors, EPCs, builders, and manufacturing accounts to secure inclusion of Viega products in specifications. • Execute account strategies aligned with corporate objectives and develop strategic plans for key accounts to exceed revenue, profitability, and customer‑satisfaction targets. • Deliver professional presentations to engineers, architects, developers, facility engineers, plant managers, code officials, educators, and design/build contractors. • Collaborate with external customers, partners, and internal sales and product‑engineering teams to align solutions with customer requirements and constraints. • Partner with cross‑functional teams to revise existing specifications and assist in developing new ones, recommending changes to integrate Viega products. • Provide technical support to internal stakeholders, including leadership, sales managers, national accounts, and technical marketing, for engineering and product‑guide specifications. • Initiate new customer engagements, conduct regular visits, and drive demand for Viega products. • Respond to leads, prospect opportunities, and liaise with local code officials and inspectors to obtain product approvals and resolve installation questions. • Maintain accurate Salesforce records and the engineering guide specification database, and report field activity, specification inclusion, competitor insights, forecasts, industry trends, and business metrics to management. • Participate in local societies such as ASPE and ASHRAE to promote Viega products and technologies.

What You Bring
Candidates should hold a bachelor’s degree in mechanical, industrial, civil engineering or a related field (or possess applicable licensure such as CPD or GPD), and have 3-5 years of industry experience along with a valid driver’s license. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered. Viega is committed to diversity and encourages women and people of color to apply even if they do not meet every qualification. • Travel up to 70 % of the time, providing in‑person support as needed. • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint) and CRM tools; possess detailed knowledge of codes, standards, and specification development. • Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and customer‑service skills; strong organizational, analytical, and strategic‑selling abilities. • Ability to interpret and forecast changes in customer product requirements and perform accurate calculations (unit conversions, percentages, area, volume).

Benefits
The total rewards package includes a base salary of $116,802-$159,435 annually, eligibility for a discretionary annual bonus, and comprehensive benefits such as medical, dental, vision, a wellness program, HSA contributions, voluntary life/AD&D/disability coverage, a 401(k) plan with a 7.5% company contribution, 22 days paid time off, nine company holidays, and two volunteer days.
